It was a great honor to do the rebranding of Booreiland. We started out with the new logo and let the inspiration grow from there. Eventually this resulted in a signature swirling yellow blob that represents our similarly ever swirling creativity. Next on our whishlist was a brand new, top-notch website. The end product does the Booreiland brand and its clients justice.

Kill your darlings

The first iteration was focused on keeping the symbol from the old logo, the Gazelaap: a cross breading between a gazelle and an ape. This mysterious (admitteldy self-imagined) creature gave a deeper meaning to the brand in the form of storytelling. Throughout the process we soon discovered, however, that the Gazelaap had to go back to it's original state: a figment of the imagination of two friends in a bar. And so we opted for a cleaner look with a focus on typography. Although still with a playfull touch.

However we soon found out that this was not the way we wanted to go with the rebranding

The second fase

After that we soon started to experiment with very different typefaces, using different techniques and brushes. In this fase it became clear we wanted something strong and rough but still very legible.

Finishing touches

Heading more towards the end we found the right brush and feeling. Here we focused on every letter giving it the right touch. The 'B' also really had to stand out.
